Job description

The role is to perform the planning and implementation of connectivity of computer systems and network infrastructure to ensure the stable operation of the organization’s IT assets. This includes developing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all new and existing network hardware, software, and communication links. This role is also responsible for telephone, data center, security systems and other electronic infrastructure.

This position is to support network operations for customer connections, administrative personnel, and staff. It requires the ability to function successfully in both team and independent work environments.

Qualifications & Certifications:

Minimum requirement is:

  • University degree or college diploma required, preferably in the field of computer science or other related academic fields.
  • 2-3 years of experience working with networking equipment specifically, including security, maintenance and upgrades. Certification in managing and configuring enterprise-wide LANs, WANs, WLANs, VPNs and Server Platforms will be of great advantage.
  • 3 years’ experience in IT related areas, preferably in the Banking, Financial Services Sector.


  • Perform a wide range of network administration duties including installations, debugging, maintenance, upgrades, patches, and general support over a variety of systems such Cisco, Hyper Converged Systems, Windows and Linux environments.
  • Evaluate, test, and deploy all software and hardware upgrades on the networking infrastructure.
  • Assist in mitigating audit findings related to network and infrastructure systems;
  • Assist and ensure effectiveness of security solutions, including firewalls, anti-virus solutions, and intrusion detection systems.
  • Assist in the administration of user accounts, permissions, and access rights in AD and other infrastructure with the strict involvement of IT GRC and direct Manager.
  • Assist in the configuration and deployment of core and peripheral network devices, which will require continuous learning of new devices (ISR Routers, Switches and Virtual Servers Environments).
  • Proactive monitoring of all network devices, services, and servers using a combination of tools to ensure high availability and meeting SLA’s.
  • Assist and ensure regular backups of infrastructure configuration and data.
  • Collect and review network utilization data for capacity and planning purposes.
  • Assist in developing, implementing, testing, and maintaining disaster recovery plans.
  • Assist in managing the DR site infrastructure and standby services.
  • Interface with vendors for procurement & maintenance of all IT infrastructures.
  • Manage & troubleshoot network and Internet connectivity throughout the organization.
  • Assist and interact with group support teams to implement group requirements.
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of emerging tools and technologies.
  • Research, evaluate and recommend technologies to support business requirements.
  • Rigorously create and maintain documentation for all processes and procedures.
  • Collaborate with and support the work of other staff engaged in similar functions.
  • Attend and actively participate in weekly meetings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Reporting Line:

Functionally this position Reports to the Head Of IT/IT Manager/Deputy IT.
